Editor's Note
This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Molins Completes Acquisition of Portuguese Compa”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.
Molins has completed the acquisition of the Portuguese company Secil Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento from the Portuguese industrial group Semapa (Sociedade de Investimento e Gestão, SGPS), after fulfilling the usual conditions for the closing of the operation announced in December 2025, valued at 1.4 billion euros. The operation allows Molins to strengthen its presence in Europe and enter the Brazilian market.
Molins-Secil: Over 750 Million Euros for the Company
Headquartered in Lisbon, the construction materials and building solutions provider reported revenues of 751 million euros and an EBITDA of 195 million euros. From an industrial standpoint, the incorporation of Secil strengthens Molins's platform and expands its presence in "key" businesses such as cement, concrete and aggregates, building solutions, prefabricated elements, and the circular economy, contributing to diversifying our business profile and our market presence.
In this sense, the firm highlights that the operation "contributes to greater geographical diversification and reduces our exposure to currency volatility."
“Completing this operation represents a very relevant step in Molins’s growth strategy. The incorporation of Secil drives the transformation of our company and allows us to move towards a more efficient organization, while expanding our international presence and our industrial scale. Likewise, it allows us to continue developing innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients and strengthen our capacity to compete globally. I also want to warmly welcome Secil’s professionals to Molins.”
Marcos Cela, CEO of Molins.
