[Argentina Tandil] Artistic Intervention by Ceramics School Inaugurated at Villa Italia Staircase

This Friday, Mayor Miguel Lunghi participated in the presentation ceremony for the artistic intervention to enhance the Villa Italia Staircase. The event was held as part of the 40th anniversary of the provincialization of Ceramics School No. 2 in Tandil. Also present at the event were the Undersecretary of Culture and Education, Alejo Alguacil; the District Head Inspector, Florencia Mena; the Inspector of Artistic Education, Mariela Thesz; the Inspectors of Social Psychology and Community Psychology, Araceli De Vanna and Pilar Cabanas; the Inspector of Primary Education, Carolina Bilz; the Director of Ceramics School No. 2, Germán Olivera; and the Secretary of that institution, Nora Mendivil, along with municipal authorities, members of the educational community, and neighbors.

The ceremony formally presented the result of the public space intervention project "Villa Italia Stairs," a proposal carried out from the Ceramics 4 chair, led by Nora Mendivil, Nancy Salle, and Camila Arispe, with the participation of the local educational community.

After extensive work, more than 1,500 tiles were produced and installed, symbolizing the flags of Italy and Argentina.

Mayor Lunghi thanked the work and commitment of all members of the project and highlighted the importance of the completed work, which "allows us to enhance a historic sector of one of Tandil's most emblematic neighborhoods."

He also showed his commitment to continue working together on other artistic interventions in the area and emphasized the importance of the Ceramics School for the city, as well as all other municipal and provincial educational institutions linked to art. After the speeches and the presentation of gifts by members of the School, the authorities formalized the presentation with the unveiling of plaques located on each of the two staircases, one displaying the Italian flag and the other with the Argentine flag.
