Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Rebranding: Homebuilder Tamarack Launches New Sh”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Homebuilder Tamarack Homes has opened new show homes at two of its Ottawa developments, Findlay Creek Village and Meadows, as part of a rebranding effort that has drawn widespread attention.

Megan Van Rijt, the company's sales manager, said the adjustments coincide with a leadership transition at Tamarack. Last fall, Michelle Taggart and Steve Parkes took over as co-presidents from their predecessors, marking the third generation of family leadership. Van Rijt and marketing manager Christie Shayler are also newly appointed executives, bringing fresh energy to the long-established builder.

Although the show homes were planned before the leadership handover, it was the new team that saw them through to completion.

"It's a really exciting time for everyone," Shayler said, citing changes to the Tamarack brand and logo, upgrades to sales centers in Ottawa and Kingston, and the introduction of new home models. "We are in a growth phase."

Show Homes in Findlay Creek

In the Findlay Creek Village community in south Ottawa, four new townhouse show homes have been added to the existing four detached show homes, designed by interior designer Sarah Taggart. They replace four townhouse show homes that opened in 2022.

The popularity of townhouses and shifting buyer preferences led to the introduction of new townhouse models in the community. Van Rijt noted that the existing detached show homes have held up well and needed no renovation, saying, "You can't tell they were built four years ago."

The four new townhouse show homes represent Tamarack's most popular models: two end units (Harmony and Camden), the smallest model (Abbey), and a middle unit with a mudroom (Samira).

"We wanted them to be classic, fresh, vibrant, and attainable, meaning people can walk in and not feel like they can't afford it because of too many upgrades, or that the sofa doesn't look comfortable," Van Rijt said.

Shayler said the show homes are also designed to let buyers see how the homes look with different upgrade levels. For example, the Harmony show home features the most upgrades for reference, while subsequent show homes have progressively fewer. Van Rijt added that the smallest show home, the Abbey model, has almost no upgrades, aiming to show first-time buyers the quality they can get at a lower price.

"The townhouse show homes opened in February, and the feedback has been very positive. People love the models and designs, and they're happy to see all the options available," Shayler said.

Van Rijt said the target buyers for these homes are first-time buyers, professionals, and young families, who are also the main purchasers.

Key features of Tamarack townhouses, reflected in the show homes, include finished basements, 9-foot ceilings on the main floor, quartz countertops, hardwood floors on the main floor, heat recovery ventilators, and smooth ceilings. Van Rijt said the homes are also Energy Star certified, allowing buyers to apply for a 35-year green mortgage through RBC.

Findlay Creek Village, launched in 2002, now has about 3,800 homes built by Tamarack and its sister company Tartan Homes, with about 500 more to be built.

Show Homes in Meadows

In the Meadows community in Ottawa's Barrhaven area, which has been under development for 15 years, two new detached show homes have revitalized the sales center.

The St. James model, on a 44-foot-wide lot, is one of Tamarack's largest and best-selling models. The show home showcases options such as a main-floor guest suite (a design increasingly favored by builders) and a finished basement with a bedroom and bathroom, allowing the home to have six bedrooms. With the finished basement, the living area reaches 4,300 square feet. "It's a big, beautiful home," Van Rijt said.

Designed by Anna Riopelle, who works for both Tamarack and Tartan, the model blends traditional elements with modern farmhouse style. She said she prioritized comfort, natural light, and a simpler aesthetic.

The other model is the Payton II on a 38-foot-wide lot, a four-bedroom home just over 3,100 square feet. While it can be optioned with a main-floor guest suite, the show home displays the standard layout, featuring a living room (complementing a large family room at the rear), a powder room, and a larger mudroom instead of the guest suite.

Like the townhouses, these detached homes are Energy Star certified. They also include features such as higher basement ceilings, walk-in closets in the mudroom, double sinks in the ensuite bathroom, 9-foot ceilings on the main floor, gas fireplaces, heat recovery ventilators, smooth ceilings, quartz countertops, and hardwood floors on the main floor.

Sales for new homes in the Meadows community began on April 25. Van Rijt said the community, launched in 2011, has about 900 of its planned 1,100 homes built.

The insatiable greed of AMLO's own and step-relatives

José SÁNCHEZ LÓPEZ

It wasn't just the bodoques, brothers, cousins, and other blood relatives of ANDRÉS MANUEL LÓPEZ OBRADOR who became millionaires by the grace of the "Camaján Macuspano."

No.

Step-relatives, that is, the tropical messiah's in-laws, like his brother-in-law RODRIGO GUTIÉRREZ MÜELLER, brother of the writer, journalist, professor, scientist, and researcher – uuffff – BEATRIZ, the former president's consort, also profited.

In six years, between 2020 and 2025, precisely during LÓPEZ's six-year term, Rodri, as his little sister calls him, wove a network of companies in various sectors, such as: money transfer and remittances; agribusiness, covering the production, processing, distribution, and marketing of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products; production and export of construction materials and quartz; and distribution of hydrocarbons. Most of his partners are Morena mayors and even individuals awaiting sentencing in the United States, accused and confessed of money laundering.

RODRIGO created two firms to commercialize quartz, in partnership with ANTONIO MORALES DÍAZ, mayor of Tapalpa, Jalisco.

Some of the companies founded by Rodri include: Keter Energy S A de C V, Conectividad Logística Internacional Portuaria Colomo Campos S A de C V, Quartz Team International México S A de C V, Quartz Stone S R L de C V, Envíos del Bienestar S A de C V, and Pagos del Bienestar S A de C V.

The creation of these last two companies with names similar to government programs, such as "Envíos del Bienestar" (January 2021) and "Pagos del Bienestar" (April 2021), is striking.

For this, he partnered with CARLOS ALBERTO GRIJALBA and BRIAN RONALD CLELAND, both foreigners.

The corporate names, registered in Mexico City and Jalisco, mention two foreigners, according to documents consulted in the Public Registry of Commerce.

The names of the foreign shareholders coincide with those of CARLOS ALBERTO and BRIAN, accused in the United States of money laundering.

Both are awaiting sentencing after accepting responsibility for laundering more than 46 million dollars.

Journalistic investigations highlight GUTIÉRREZ MÜLLER's lack of prior business history; his "corporate talent" began jointly with the so-called Fourth Transformation.

Previously, there were no records of Rodri's impressive business vision.

Still, at the end of his brother-in-law's administration, the novice entrepreneur registered a new company: Keter Energy, a firm dedicated to the acquisition, purchase-sale, import, export, distribution, marketing, storage, and transportation of oil, gasoline, gas, diesel, fuel additives, lubricants, and in general, all kinds of hydrocarbons and derived residues in Mexico.

Only six years were enough for the "brother-in-law" to build his empire, and since the regime continues with the same old story, the good fortune of the talented and visionary Rodri will surely continue to shine in the business world.

***YOU DON'T NEED TALENT, BUT A GOOD GODFATHER.***

AU REVOIR.

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Yukon Metals Options Copper-Gold Project from Re”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Yukon Metals Corp. (CSE: YMC, FSE: E770, OTCQB: YMMCF) ("Yukon Metals" or the "Company") is pleased to announce it has entered into an option agreement (the "Agreement") with Yukon geologist and prospector Ryan Burke ("Burke") to acquire a 100% interest in the Sumo Copper-Gold property (the "Sumo Property" or the "Property"), located approximately 10 kilometres ("km") east of the Company's Birch Project in southwestern Yukon. The Property comprises 75 quartz claims totalling approximately 1,875 hectares, expanding the Company's land position within a district-scale copper-gold belt prospective for porphyry- and skarn-style mineralization (Figure 1).

The Sumo Property is strategically located in southwestern Yukon approximately 10 km east of the Company's Birch Project, with direct access to regional infrastructure including a road within 15 km and the 37 MW Aishihik Hydroelectric Generating Station approximately 80km away along the same road corridor. Figure 2- Sumo Property location relative to other Company Projects and Aishihik Lake Road (in black). Exploration completed by Burke in 2024 included a 397-sample soil grid covering approximately 3 × 2 km that defined coherent multi-element copper-gold-molybdenum anomalies, including peak values of 587 ppm copper, 409 ppb gold, and 4.1 ppm molybdenum. These anomalies define priority targets that remain largely untested by drilling. Surface sampling completed by Burke in 2025 identified a new copper-gold skarn target located approximately 1.2 km from previous drill sites and measuring approximately 1.1 km by 600 m in extent. Sampling across multiple target areas on the Property has also returned elevated copper, gold, silver, and molybdenum values. Rock samples are selective in nature and may not be representative of mineralization on the Property.

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Taiwan’s First Seven-Star Stone Gallery: ‘Jia Li”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Taiwan's first seven-star stone gallery, the 'Jia Lian Luxury Stone Gallery,' has opened. (Photo/searchome design) A wave of luxurious stone styles is sweeping global living spaces. So-called 'luxury stones' are mostly granite, crystal, mica, agate, and quartzite, often containing precious metals like crystal formations. They frequently feature stones interwoven with colored crystals, titanium-gold threads, agate, and jade, earning them the nickname 'semi-precious stones.' Luxury stones are hard and have a low extraction rate. Whether used for entrance walls, floors, countertops, or even furniture materials, they greatly test one's mastery of stone properties and processing capabilities. Jia Lian Stone Industry, the most influential player in Taiwan's building materials sector, boasts 45 years of deep heritage. It operates the largest stone exhibition centers in northern and western Taiwan and is the leading importer of stone in the country. In 2022, Jia Lian entered the high-end luxury stone market, building Taiwan's first and largest high-end stone appreciation club, the 'Jia Lian Luxury Stone Gallery,' on the Bali waterfront in Taipei. Covering 1,000 ping (approx. 3,300 sqm), it features a comprehensive sample wall, a 3-meter-wide circulation plan, and custom dimmable LED lighting, allowing visitors to appreciate the delicate nature of the stone under optimal light and color temperature. The gallery aims to open up endless possibilities for dialogue between customers and stone art in the space. Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Richard Mille Pushes the Boundaries of Lightness”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Richard Mille once again pushes the boundaries of lightness with the RM 55-01, a model that embodies the brand's technical innovation.

Back to Basics for Richard Mille

Contrary to its flamboyant habits, Richard Mille surprises with its new creation: the RM 55-01. Known for its highly sophisticated and expensive sports watches, the Swiss watchmaker here bets on radical simplicity.

The RM 55-01 presents itself as a true minimalist exercise: a display reduced to the essentials — hours, minutes, and seconds — and a manual-winding movement weighing less than 5 grams. To put that in perspective, it is the weight of a single A4 sheet of paper.

Lightness and Material Innovation

This new model embodies the brand's obsession with lightness and innovation. The case, available in three versions — white Quartz TPT, gray Quartz TPT (which leans more toward pastel blue), and Carbon TPT — uses high-tech composite supplied by Swiss specialist North Thin Ply.

The layered texture of the material underscores the avant-garde character dear to Richard Mille, while a central band in grade 5 titanium evokes aeronautical codes. The overall impression? A movement floating in its case, like a suspended structure.

Image for illustration. Richard Mille RM55-01 / Richard Mille / PR-ADN

Ultra-Light Mechanics and Technical Finishes

At the heart of the case is the caliber RMUL4, where "UL" stands for "Ultra Light." This mechanism directly descends from the famous RM 055 "Bubba Watson," both in construction and philosophy. Certain details demonstrate rare technical refinement: bridges treated with Titalyt then PVD, proprietary spline screws ensuring robustness and durability over time. The power reserve reaches 55 hours thanks to two series-coupled barrels — a technical choice aimed at ensuring a regular distribution of torque, a strategy shared with other major names in Swiss watchmaking.

Here are the key technical points presented in summary form:

Case diameter: 37.95 mm x 47.33 mm; thickness: 10.75 mm. Movement: Manual RMUL4 (4 Hz), power reserve of 55 h. Material: Quartz TPT or Carbon TPT; sapphire crystal; water resistance: 50 m.

Assumed Simplicity… at a Confidential Price

The total absence of additional complications surprises for Richard Mille, but this sobriety is claimed as both an aesthetic manifesto and a technical challenge. The watch is not limited in edition but will only be available in official boutiques.

As for the price — often a subject of debate for this manufacturer — it remains reserved for insiders… or the wealthiest.

Encounter of the Third Kind https://www.slaboutlets.com/encounter-of-the-third-kind/ https://www.slaboutlets.com/encounter-of-the-third-kind/#respond Sat, 25 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 https://www.slaboutlets.com/encounter-of-the-third-kind/

Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Encounter of the Third Kind”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Watchmaking in the past was a bit like the geopolitics of the 1980s: two opposing blocs, and that was it. On one side, mechanical; on the other, quartz. But today, a third type is changing the game: solar technology, as TAG Heuer demonstrates with its Formula 1 Solargraph, now available in a "Pastel" range.

One should not underestimate its significance: with a surface area not exceeding 2 square centimeters, developing a watch capable of powering multiple complications for several months, or even years, is no small feat. It is a major technological challenge. This is precisely what the new TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph models are built upon, encapsulated in a new "Pastel" range.

The watch is designed as an entry point into the TAG Heuer universe: produced in volume, with trendy colors, and at an affordable price, thus quartz. The Solargraph collection continues this battery-powered adventure with a new photon-powered chapter. Ever-changing, even surprising, the "Pastel" capsule collection also takes the opposite approach to the colorful world of traditional Formula 1 watches, with soft and discreet tones.

All these pieces use natural or artificial light as an almost unlimited energy source. One minute of exposure to sunlight is enough to power the watch for an entire day, while a full charge, achieved in less than 40 hours of light exposure, provides up to 10 months of autonomy in total darkness. Even after stopping, the watch restarts with just 10 seconds of light exposure. Its internal accumulator has a lifespan of up to 15 years, a sign of lasting reliability.

Finally, the Swiss company Ronda recently launched its own solar movement, the Solartech 200 and 2000. With classic functions, these calibers have a power reserve in darkness of eight months, and the chronographs five months. If the battery is depleted, three minutes of exposure to sunlight are enough for one day of autonomy, and ten hours in sunlight for full capacity. Ronda is currently the only manufacturer to offer two solar movements, one specifically for chronographs. It equips ranges from Mondaine, Swiss Military, Victorinox, RVOW, among others. Ronda's very competitive positioning allows these brands to offer entry-level prices starting at 650 CHF.

Encounter of the Third Kind

What is true on planet Earth is also true in the watchmaking world: the most abundant, free energy offered to the entire world without distinction is solar energy. To give an idea of the scale, it is estimated that only 45 minutes of the solar energy reaching us would be enough to meet all the needs of humanity (8.3 billion people) for an entire year.

Watchmaking, at the Forefront of Solar R&D

Naturally, the deposits for exploiting solar energy are not exactly in watchmaking. But the industry, by nature at the forefront of micro-technology, is often where innovation arrives and then spreads. Watchmaking has thus positioned itself, for a little over five years, at the head of many developments in this area. TAG Heuer Formula 1 pastel opaline green 38 mm © TAG Heuer

The Formula 1 is an iconic watch from the manufacture. It is exactly 40 years old. Presented in 1986, it is linked to races dominated at the time by those who have since become legends: Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, to name just a few. A La Joux-Perret Technology

The Aquaracer 2023 collection was the first from TAG Heuer to integrate solar-powered technology, and in 2025, the Formula 1 followed suit. It is not an in-house movement. It is produced by La Joux-Perret, owned by the Citizen Group. It is therefore found in Citizen watches, as well as in Alpina, also owned by the same group.

Competition Organizes

These technical specifications place the Solargraph movement in a good position among the competition. At the Swatch Group, through its subsidiary Nivarox, the Tissot T-Touch remains vague about its autonomy, stating "months." However, we must acknowledge the watch's merit in offering an astronomical number of functions (step counter, calories burned, distance traveled, altimeter, barometer, temperature, weather trends, compass, azimuth, notifications), the use of which—or not—has a decisive impact on the movement's power reserve, developed in Neuchâtel. Note that the T-Touch is connected, which the Formula 1 Solargraph is not. Its price starts at less than 1,000 CHF.

At Richemont, Cartier also benefits from its own movement, developed in Switzerland, now implemented in the Tank. This "SolarBeat" claims 16 years of normal operation before battery replacement. The watch charges for a full day in just 2 minutes in the sun… but Cartier does not disclose its autonomy. Its average price is around 2,500 CHF.

Pastel Colors and Limited Series

In line with TAG Heuer's philosophy of constant evolution, the Formula 1 "Pastel" 2026 capsule collection stands out from the usually bold aesthetic of the Formula 1 by adopting softer, more discreet shades.

Five references are presented, ranging from yellow, pink, green, and blue to pastel blue. While all cases are 38 mm, the straps are either steel or rubber, allowing a price range from 1,850 CHF to 2,650 CHF.

Three watches, one icon, and an unexpected approach: Cartier revisits the Santos-Dumont with an execution that intrigues as much as it seduces. Cartier brings one of its most iconic creations back into the spotlight with a series of three models that go beyond a simple aesthetic variation. Behind this trilogy lies a desire to revisit the codes of a historic watch while subtly shifting its positioning. The result immediately intrigues, as it plays with elements rarely associated with this line. Before diving into the details, one question arises: how far has Cartier gone in this transformation?

Case, Bracelet, and Water Resistance: A Discreet but Strategic Evolution

The three Cartier Santos-Dumont models are based on a case faithful to its identity, with its square lines, softened angles, and visible screws. Cartier offers versions in yellow gold and platinum, each with a distinct personality. The major innovation lies in the precious metal bracelet matching the case. This approach profoundly changes the perception of the watch, traditionally associated with a leather strap. The visual result gains coherence and presence on the wrist, with an aesthetic continuity rarely seen in this collection.

With dimensions of 43.5 mm x 31.4 mm, respecting the Santos-Dumont DNA, and a slim thickness of 7.3 mm, the case promotes comfort. Meanwhile, water resistance of 30 meters remains consistent with a watch designed primarily for urban and daily use, without sporting pretensions.

A Dial Faithful to Cartier DNA

Cartier retains the codes that made the Cartier Santos-Dumont successful. Each model features a clean dial with Roman numerals, a discreet chemin de fer, and blued hands. Subtle variations differentiate the versions. The platinum model stands out with a more contrasted dial, while the gold variations play on more classic tones. The overall look remains legible, balanced, and instantly recognizable. This aesthetic continuity strengthens the connection with the house's heritage while supporting the upscaling brought by the metal bracelets.

An Assumed and Optimized Quartz Movement

Cartier equips these models with a quartz movement, a choice consistent with the Santos-Dumont philosophy. This type of caliber allows for a reduced thickness, a central element of the watch's identity. Quartz offers high precision and simplified use, without winding constraints. Cartier takes a pragmatic approach here, prioritizing user comfort and slimness over mechanical complexity. This positioning may be surprising given the materials used, especially platinum, but it follows a historical logic for this collection.

Availability and Price: A Clear Upscaling

These three Cartier Santos-Dumont models are offered as limited editions, enhancing their exclusivity. Each version is produced in restricted quantities, clearly targeting collectors and discerning enthusiasts. Prices reflect the choice of materials and the integration of the metal bracelet. They fall in a high range, with prices well above those of classic leather versions. The platinum model logically sits at the top of the range. This pricing strategy reflects a desire to reposition the Santos-Dumont in a higher-end segment. Follow us on Google News

Baume & Mercier Joia: A Swiss Timepiece at €4,400 Designed as a Modern Jewel Between jewelry and timekeeping, the Joia 10850 reveals a subtle approach to modern elegance, driven by details rarely highlighted. Lydia Mahfo Published on 25/04/2026 Reading time: 3 min The Baume & Mercier Joia embodies an approach where the watch transcends its primary function. From first glance, it intrigues with its balance between discretion and sophistication, without immediately revealing what makes it unique. This piece clearly targets daily wear while maintaining a deliberate precious dimension.

A Compact Case Enriched with Jewelry Details

The round case of the Joia, signed Baume & Mercier, features a diameter of 28 mm and a slim thickness of 7.2 mm, reinforcing its elegant and discreet positioning. Made of polished steel, it captures light with restraint. The bezel stands out with a setting of 40 diamonds totaling 0.81 carats, providing a controlled visual presence. The crown, adorned with a black agate, introduces a subtle contrast rarely seen in this segment. The solid case back, secured by screws, ensures robust construction. The ensemble is completed by a textured polished steel bracelet, composed of flat relief links. A tool-free interchangeable system allows for easy style adaptation.

A Structured and Legible Dial

The dial of the Baume & Mercier Joia features a satin-finished silver with a grid pattern, creating discreet light plays depending on the viewing angle. Roman numerals structure the display and reinforce the classic identity of the piece. The anthracite leaf hands provide clear contrast, facilitating readability. The overall design remains balanced, without clutter, with a clear intention to prioritize visual harmony.

A Ronda Quartz Movement Designed for Durability

The announced battery life reaches 5 years, significantly reducing maintenance constraints. This technical choice suits a watch intended for regular use, with stable precision and without frequent adjustments. The movement is limited to hours and minutes display, consistent with the model's minimalist approach.

Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Cartier’s Roadster May Never Win Everyone Over, “, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Ludovic Bonnet 25 April 2026 Cartier's watch collections are not limited to the timeless Tank and Santos or the exuberant Crash. The Parisian house made this clear at Watches & Wonders by highlighting historical collections that the general public sometimes tends to forget: Tortue, Baignoire, and Roadster. The latter, in particular, celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026 and continues to divide opinion with its shaped case and oversized crown.

An Icon of the 2000s That Never Managed to Please Everyone

When Cartier unveiled the Roadster in the early 2000s, the house was operating in a very specific context. Mechanical watchmaking was making a strong comeback after the quartz crisis, and brands were seeking to attract a younger clientele drawn to watches that were both sporty and status-oriented. The Roadster precisely met this ambition. Its design leaves no one indifferent. The tonneau case, stretched and curved, immediately evokes the bodies of sports cars from the 1950s and 1960s. For some, this is mere marketing pretext, but the automotive reference is present in every curve, in the fluidity of the lines, and even in the cyclops lens organically integrated into the crystal, like a stylized windshield. Added to this is an oversized crown, set with a cabochon, which reinforces the model's visual identity. By launching the Roadster at that time, Cartier also confirmed its desire to explore new territories. While the Santos established itself as a sporty-chic watch ahead of its time and the Tank remained a pillar of classic watchmaking, the Roadster adopted a bolder positioning. It appealed to a generation seduced by the codes of contemporary luxury, less attached to conventions. Moreover, the model also stood out for its interchangeable bracelet system, relatively innovative for its era. This detail, now commonplace, contributed to the image of a watch designed for daily use, adaptable and dynamic.

Ludovic Bonnet

Yet, despite these qualities, as noted, the Roadster never achieved unanimous approval. Too massive for some, too stylistically marked for others, it remains a divisive piece. But that is precisely what makes it interesting today.

In 2026, the Roadster Softens… But Remains Just as Divisive

In its massive booth at Watches & Wonders, Cartier did not settle for a discreet tribute. The house chose to put the Roadster back in the spotlight, alongside other historical collections, continuing to offer a broad reinterpretation of its heritage. The model presented this year does not seek to smooth over the Roadster's rough edges. On the contrary, Cartier seems to fully embrace what made its identity. Available in two sizes (47×38 mm and 42.5×34.9 mm), the case retains its assertive proportions, the crown remains imposing, and the overall silhouette does not deny its origins. On the dial, offered in rather classic colors, the oversized Roman numerals provide excellent legibility. To power the whole, Cartier has opted for in-house automatic movements (1847 MC and 1899 MC depending on the version), offering around forty hours of power reserve. In other words, this is far from a radical modernization exercise. But precisely, in the current landscape, the Roadster finds a new relevance, as the market shows a clear resurgence of interest in shaped watches. In this context, one could almost say it appears ahead of its time, with a design once deemed excessive but now fitting into a more accepted, even sought-after aesthetic. Facing competitors like the Vanguard by Franck Muller or certain creations by Richard Mille, the Roadster relies on typical Cartier elegance, made of subtle details and historical references. So no, it won't please everyone… but deep down, is that really necessary? Source: DR

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “”We Are Inseparable”: Near Vitré, Two Adopted Ho”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Adopted in 2020 and 2025, two horses now live on a new plot of land thanks to a community work project in Saint-Christophe-des-Bois (Ille-et-Vilaine).

A Community Work Project to Fence the Fields

The two horses have just moved into their new home. “They were in a place that had no grass left. The owner offered us another plot with four fields totaling 15,000 m²,” explains Carole Pacilly, who took in the two horses. But the new land needed fencing. “We couldn’t see ourselves doing it alone,” admits the owner of the equines. That’s where the farm animal sanctuary network Sanctuaire du Futur, of which Carole is a member, came in. The association launched a call for help for a community work project that took place on Saturday, April 11. Serge and Cécile, two volunteers, came from Normandy to fence and weed with Carole’s husband and two children. “It went super fast,” notes the resident of Saint-Christophe-des-Bois.

200 posts were planted and 450 meters of wire now surround three of the four fields. The fourth field will be fenced later, and a shelter should be rebuilt there.

Alba Was Destined for the Slaughterhouse

The two horses are now in a space fully adapted to their needs, which is a luxury given their troubled past. Alba, a 20-year-old mare, was saved from the slaughterhouse in 2020. Forced into retirement from a riding center because her health no longer allowed her to work, she was “left abandoned in a field for a year,” recounts Carole Pacilly. As the date for sending her to the slaughterhouse approached, a friend who knew Carole was looking to adopt a horse contacted her. “We fell in love with her story.” Alba was not very inclined to approach humans at first. “It was very difficult work, but she eventually gave us her trust. We are inseparable,” affirms the horse owner.

“A Great Companion”

Quartz, meanwhile, was adopted more recently. Suffering from sarcoids (benign skin tumors), the 20-year-old horse could no longer tolerate saddles and girths. Carole decided to give him a new life by adopting him in December 2025. “We thought he would make a great companion for Alba.” Carole Pacilly is building a real sanctuary for animals with difficult pasts. She started by saving a goat, but “one leads to two, because they are gregarious animals.” She now has eight goats and two horses. She has been a member of the Futur association for over two years. “It’s a wonderful association for raising awareness about animal welfare.” Above all, it helps its members who take in animals. Futur has funded the goats’ care, transport, and identification. “All of that costs money,” insists Carole Pacilly. The association can launch fundraisers to occasionally finance animal care. A sponsorship system for the animals will also soon be set up. Carole herself does not plan to adopt more animals. “I lack space. But if it were up to me, I would have plenty more,” she says, thinking above all about the well-being of her animals. Quartz and Alba. ©Cyrill Roy / Le Journal de Vitré
