Textile manufacturer Toyo Boseki Corporation is withdrawing from the Chinese market following production cuts by Japanese automakers due to the rise of EVs (electric vehicles). Guangzhou Dongfujing Special Textile Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou) has been consistently posting losses in recent years. The company reported sales of 575 million yen, an operating loss of 91 million yen, and net assets of 765 million yen (fiscal year ending December 2024).
The transferee is Guangzhou Zhongying Auto Parts Co., Ltd. (also in Guangzhou), which manufactures automotive carpets, seat materials, and other components.
The transfer price is undisclosed. The transfer is scheduled for December 2025. Toyo Boseki Material (Osaka City), a subsidiary, will transfer its entire stake in Guangzhou Dongfujing Special Textile.
