Founded in 2016, Unknown Untitled is a creative studio that integrates global design strategy, brand identity, and independent experimentation. Their design language always starts from social awareness, attempting to infuse everyday objects with new relationships and emotional layers. The UU Tiles series is a proposal born from this: while maintaining the protective and decorative essence of tiles, it adds components that can serve as wall lamps or hooks, making walls no longer just a background but an active participant in daily life. ‘To make the transition between different functions smoother, we incorporated organic curves into the form. This shape echoes the liquid state of porcelain clay when poured into a mold and can adapt to various application scenarios,’ said Sylvain Chasseriaux, founder of Unknown Untitled.

Each tile undergoes two rounds of drying and firing. Due to the non-automated production, designers must anticipate the deformation and shrinkage of each component during manufacturing to ensure every tile fits together seamlessly and maintains a consistent appearance.
