Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “A Visit to a Family Duplex with Rounded Volumes “, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

In Paris, this 105 m² duplex transforms its atypical volumes into a decorative asset. Chloé begins a new family chapter in this Parisian duplex redesigned by interior architect Laurie Mazit, with shades of white and curved lines, to bring softness and serenity to daily life.

“I would like a bubble of softness for my two sons and myself.”

That's how Chloé envisions her new life, alone with Gaspard, 11, and Auguste, 8.

“I immediately thought of highlighting the atypical volumes of this 105 m2 Parisian duplex with plays on curves (arch-shaped passages, rounded guardrails and a plaster fireplace),” says interior architect Laurie Mazit.

An elegant cocoon, but also functional, with plenty of storage and spaces adapted to each person. Gaspard and Auguste will have the cabin-style bedroom they dream of, as well as a mezzanine play area and a dedicated TV break zone. As for Chloé, she can savor the tranquility of the living room.

“Light is an essential element of this renovation: it helps make the apartment warm, combined with neutral and enveloping tones that are these off-whites nuanced with gray and this beige that is neither too yellow nor too cold.”

Iconic design pieces bring modernity and personality to the duplex, such as the armchair by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl in the living room, or the sofa by Mario Bellini in the mezzanine.

“Although located right in the center of Paris, the apartment is very quiet. It exudes such serenity! Exactly what we needed to turn the page…”
