Now an essential show in the region, Art à Bâbord confirms its requirement: artists only participate after being selected by the organizing association. This clear artistic line contributes to its growing reputation.
A First Participation
Among the newcomers to this edition, two artists are making a notable first appearance.
Chaniviro, whose real name is Virginie Chantriaux, offers abstract painting inhabited by a quest for light. Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, she has been exploring a free and moving pictorial language since 2017.
I start from black to go towards the light. My paintings transform while I paint them, I follow my intuition,
she explains.
Another universe, another material: Maïthé Jaubard works with porcelain delicately. Inspired by the marine world, she hand-shapes unique pieces evoking the seabed, in shades of matte white.
I love this material for its fineness and the way it captures light,
she confides.
Both are discovering the festival with enthusiasm.
It is very enriching to meet other artists and exchange with the public,
emphasizes Chaniviro. A sentiment shared by Maïthé Jaubard:
