Editor's Note
This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Suspended Toilets: Geberit’s 4th Generation Supp”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.
Suspended Toilet Systems
In France, this more expensive type of toilet represents a significant third of the total market. Geberit's strategy is to further increase the market share of suspended toilets in France. The Swiss water specialist Geberit is introducing a new generation of support frames, improved in all aspects: speed of installation, compatibility with bowls, efficiency, and flush acoustics. Discover all these developments. The story is far from over: in 1964, Geberit presented the first synthetic flush tank for embedding, then the first support frame in 1983. Since then, the Swiss group launched the first Duofix model in 1996 and has significantly evolved the product. After more than 20 years of good and loyal service, Duofix 3 will therefore give way to Duofix 4 . Guillaume Leurent (Marketing & Sales Director) explains:
This is a 4th generation with notable evolutions on the chassis and the tank. In total, 16 evolutions to make handling easier and simplify the plumber’s work.

A Long List of Improvements
These details were revised with the input of professionals met during Focus Days. Rodolphe Artero (Product Marketing Manager) details:
The metal chassis has been redesigned to provide even more resistance where needed with less metal. The weight saving is 1 kg, bringing it to 19 kg. The profiles have been closed to consolidate them: the chassis supports all bowl geometries (short 49 cm, standard 53 cm, extended 70 cm for disabled access). The horizontal crossbars have also been reworked and new wall anchors positioned at 1 meter. The height adjustment range with the foot is extended from 20 to 25 cm.
And the innovations don't stop there: markings have been added at the level of the threaded rods and the central axis of the drain to facilitate measurements for connections. The foot locking mechanism has been cleared for easier access and the footprint reduced (12.5 x 10 cm instead of 19.5 x 10 cm) to simplify handling at delivery. Telescopic side fixing plates have been introduced to eliminate the need to drill the chassis from the inside, while adjustment screws to compensate for floor unevenness have been added. The tank has not been forgotten: it also has a revised geometry to facilitate packaging and free up more workspace. The adjustable flush elbow fixing collar has been made sliding to align perfectly in all installations. The float valve has been made more compact, again to simplify its extraction during maintenance operations. Finally, a major effort has been made on the system's acoustics, which generates less disturbance in the flow.
Results That Speak for Themselves

According to Geberit, the Duofix 4 evolutions bring numerous advantages. Guillaume Leurent emphasizes:
The time saving during installation is 40%, the acoustic gain of the flush is 30%, and the flushing performance of TurboFlush bowls, which will be generalized in 2026, is 10 times higher.
The brand will continue to supply parts for Duofix 3 for another 50 years, the estimated lifespan of the product. In 2023, out of 2.26 million toilets, 830,000 were suspended units. The Swiss group alone represents about half of this market (in volume and value). The Marketing Director reiterates that these more aesthetic and supposedly more hygienic systems have convinced more consumers in neighboring countries like Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, where they represent roughly 80% of the market! The potential for growth is therefore significant in France. Hence the interest of a major launch campaign to alert installers and convince the hesitant. While Duofix 4 was first revealed globally at Idéobain in October 2024, the launch waited for another major European trade fair, ISH in Frankfurt, in March 2025.
A National Tour

The brand therefore plans a Duofix Tour with XL events in 15 major French cities, bringing together 150 to 200 installers for a conference, technical workshops, and an evening cocktail, starting in May and running until July. Other Medium events will also be organized with 60 dates and smaller groups of 10 to 20 installers. Finally, the Geberit Tour will pick up the torch from the start of the school year in September, this time at distributors.
In parallel, Geberit will organize a "Golden Ticket" operation so that installers can participate in a draw to win various prizes. Guillaume Leurent shares:
We have had double-digit growth on Bati-packs in the professional trade.
The four best-selling models are available and will be joined by a 5th in June (Renova TurboFlush WC). Finally, an important last piece of information: this 4th generation of Duofix will be marketed at the same recommended retail price of €554 ex. VAT as the previous generation. No inflation, therefore!
