Editor's Note
This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Before/After: A Contemporary Kitchen Nestled in “, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.
After: A Work Surface Doubled in Area
The smooth, homogeneous surface of the worktop (the material used is Compact) makes the whole visually aesthetic and contemporary. Its black color echoes that of the lower cabinet sections and gently contrasts with the wood on the upper storage units. Kitchen area: 18 square meters. A young couple, after investing in a 1930s house in the city of Tourcoing (Nord), is renovating the building room by room in the spirit of the neighborhood: like a loft. The kitchen is transformed and adorned with a contemporary and functional style. Report.
“The owners are passionate about design,”
confides Maxime Marszalek from the company Coralie Cuisine et Bain. After buying their 1930s building, they set themselves the challenge of transforming it into a sumptuous industrial loft. Thus, the owners renovated their kitchen:
“They wanted to benefit from a spacious and bright kitchen. The room also had to be warm,”
adds the kitchen designer. After working for a few months on this renovation project, Maxime Marszalek proposed several solutions to the couple. The idea is to enlarge the space and restructure it to allow the family to move around and live without difficulty.

“They opted for the most advantageous and aesthetic solution,”
notes the professional. And the result meets expectations: the living space is decidedly more design and better arranged. The shapes and colors perfect the place and restore its former character, lost over all these years. Visit.
Before: A Practical but Too Classical Kitchen
The old kitchen relied on light tones. The living space was sober and without real soul. The owners' goal was to restore character to this central place in the house, to make it more contemporary and above all more functional. The lack of storage, for example, or the narrowness of the laundry room (on the right in the photo), pushed the couple to undertake the renovation work.
“They wanted better quality furniture, more design and warm,”
describes Maxime Marszalek, who opts for Comprex kitchen furniture.
After: A Custom-Made Kitchen Better Suited to the Owners’ Desires

To most accurately meet the owners' request, Maxime Marszalek carried out a virtual mock-up of the project prior to the work.
“The first version of the kitchen is visible in 3D. The owners can see their future kitchen,”
he explains. While adding:
“They chose, for example, to demolish part of the old partition to facilitate circulation and make the room larger. They also bet on black and wood for the furniture colors.”
All the furniture was custom-made to fit the living space as naturally as possible.
A Warm and Contemporary Kitchen
The large openings, located near the kitchen, bathe the living space in natural light. The new proposed furniture contrasts with the brilliant whiteness of the walls and gently breaks with the abundant light. The very cubic shape of the furniture, the play of contrast and parallelism between the different materials bring character to the room.

The products used, such as natural oak for the high cabinets or melamine for the lower parts, make the room warm and decidedly more aesthetic. To highlight the furniture, spotlights have been scattered throughout the room: above the sink or above the dining table.
Before: A Restricted Work Surface
The old worktop was built in an L-shape which made it practical to use. However, the presence of the hob and sink on the right side of the worktop severely restricted actions.
“The owners also wanted a quality worktop that was easy to maintain,”
specifies the kitchen designer.
“The length of the worktop has increased considerably compared to that of the old kitchen. It now measures three meters seventy-five,”
emphasizes Maxime Marszalek. Another advantage: the whole is easy to maintain and of high quality.
