Editor's Note
This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Agrob Buchtal’s Drytile Ceramic Tile: Dry-Laid T”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.
Drytile is an easy and quick-to-install floor tile that can remain in the material cycle for a very long time because it is removable and recyclable. It is precisely the right choice for sustainable building life cycles and architecture in motion. Drytile is Cradle to Cradle certified and is installed without adhesive.
Starting Without Adhesive
Drytile is a system for the dry installation of floor tiles that does without adhesive. This is environmentally friendly and works eight times faster than conventional installation methods with adhesive. And during demolition, the tiles can be removed undamaged.
Clever: Cork Layer Instead of Mortar Bed
A thin cork layer is applied to the back of the ceramic tile. Through the tiles' own weight, this layer adheres to the substrate and bonds firmly. This means: no mortar bed, no adhesive, no primer. Since the cork slightly overhangs the tile edge, it creates precise grout lines. A special grout compound ensures stability, high load-bearing capacity, and a sealed surface. If tiles need to be removed again, one simply cuts the grout and lifts them out with a suction lifter.

Conserving Resources, Renovating Existing Stock, Building Circularly
Drytile – the ceramic tile for dry installation – enables the installation of a high-quality floor with all the advantages of ceramic. Robust and durable, the adhesive-free installed tile retains its appearance and color intensity even after decades.
“To protect the planet and achieve climate goals, innovative products are gaining importance rapidly. Drytile is an easy and quick-to-install floor tile that can remain in the material cycle for a very long time,” summarizes Daniel Schreiner, Managing Director of Drytile Ceramics GmbH.
