[Italy] With Sipario by Aran Cucine, the Art of Cooking Takes the Stage

Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “With Sipario by Aran Cucine, the Art of Cooking “, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Makio Hasuike and the design team of ARAN Cucine have redefined the elements and finishes of the Sipario kitchen, a model created in 2016 by the Japanese designer and now officially part of the company's catalog novelties.

Designed by a renowned designer, Makio Hasuike, and produced by Aran Cucine, the Sipario kitchen is composed of different ‘parts’, just like any respectable theatrical work. Makio Hasuike describes his ‘work’ as follows:

“As in a theatrical performance, the art of cooking takes the stage. … The show begins, actors and spectators are both protagonists, involved in the performance of preparing, cooking, and tasting.”

The first part of Sipario is an island on legs, available in various finishes – including Solid Surface and steel to guarantee ergonomics and hygiene – which can function as a worktop as well as a table for convivial moments.

Enriched by open compartments with glass shelves, doors, or equipped drawers, it becomes the stage for all the main gestures in the kitchen. The second element of Sipario is a wall unit that can be equipped for cooking and washing phases: a long and continuous stainless steel worktop accommodates on one side a sink, an equipped channel, and trays for accessories, and on the other gas burners with independent cast iron grates. Open elements and wall units make room for ingredients, dishes, and utensils to make the space as functional and rational as possible. A plus of Sipario is the particular BIS table, an extremely functional snack and operational surface equipped with a flip-down shelf that allows extending its resting surface or even creating an autonomous one; the extractable accessories, such as rods for dish towels and an object tray, together with the non-bulky structure easily accessible from all sides, make BIS the ideal table in any kitchen zone. Completing the essential design composition of the kitchen, which can be designed according to one's needs, are the Totems, modular free-standing elements configurable as glass containers or as columns for built-in appliances.
