About PANECO®

“The future is made from waste.”

From discarded clothing to spatial building materials. Approximately 92 million tons of clothing are discarded globally each year, with about 82% of it disposed of in landfills or through incineration. 'PANECO® (Paneco)' tackles this serious issue from a design perspective. It is an innovative recycled material that beautifully recycles fibers, attracting attention as a material that reduces environmental impact by cutting fashion waste and contributes to a circular society. The unique texture created by the color and feel of the fibers themselves has a rich expression and possesses strength and workability close to that of wood. Since it can be regenerated into new boards after use, its application has expanded to various settings such as furniture, fixtures, and displays.

At this exhibition, 'New PANECO®', manufactured on a mass-production line as the next step towards social implementation, will be announced. The new PANECO® achieves greater strength and quality stability by mixing wood chips with discarded clothing. Furthermore, by reducing the price and offering large-format sizes, it has become possible to use it widely for large furniture and as finish or substrate materials for interiors. Also, by serving as both finish and substrate material, it reduces the materials and man-hours required for construction, creating significant cost benefits.

Clothing that has served its purpose is reborn as a spatial building material and cycles back to support life once again.

Please experience the lifestyle woven by 'New PANECO®' at this exhibition. Features of 'New PANECO®' ① Can be used as both surface and substrate material. ② Material strength increased ↗ as a building material by mixing wood chips. ③ Price reduced ↘ compared to before due to mass-production equipment. ④ Large-format sizes available for use as spatial building materials.
