Editor's Note
This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Autumn Cleaning: How to Start the Fall Season Fr”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.
1. Make the wardrobe autumn-proof
It's time to pack away the bikinis and replace them with warm winter sweaters. Make space in the closet by storing summer outfits and start sorting through your clothes: what do you still like to wear and what can go? Before you start reorganizing the closet, wipe it down with a cleaning cloth so it's nice and fresh and smells good. Now you can give your autumn wardrobe a nice spot!
2. Winter stock in the kitchen
How nice is it to start autumn in a wonderfully clean kitchen. Begin with a thorough cleaning of all cabinets and appliances. Afterwards, give all items a new place. And especially don't forget the pantry. Check carefully which items are no longer usable and fill the pantry with a nice winter stock.
3. Washing the windows
Choose a cool and cloudy day to tackle this task. If the weather is too warm, there's a good chance you'll get streaks on your windows from the sun, and you don't want that. Autumn is therefore particularly suitable for giving the windows a good wash. Hopefully, the outside of the windows will stay clean for a long time despite all the autumn showers.
4. The area rug
Many people often forget to include this chore in their cleaning routine, but it's not entirely unimportant. An area rug attracts a lot of dust, especially in the summer. That's precisely why it's good to air it out occasionally. Especially if you'll be spending a lot of time indoors in the coming months. Beat the rug out and hang it outside for a few hours. Check the weather forecast carefully and choose a dry day.
5. The outdoor tiles
In autumn, you probably do the bare minimum for the garden or balcony. Still, it's good to make preparations for when the weather really turns bad. Clean the outdoor tiles well in advance, for example with a high-pressure washer. Cleaning the outdoor tiles in autumn means you have less work in the spring. Also remove weeds between the tiles. This prevents damage when it freezes.
6. Storing the garden furniture
Not only are the outdoor tiles important, but the garden furniture also needs to be prepared for autumn. For example, you can bring your entire garden set indoors or store it under a cover. This way you can be sure everything will look spick and span again in the spring. You can also choose to only store and tidy away the cushions and loose accessories – which are not winterproof.
7. Don't forget to make the house beautiful again
Last but not least, after all that cleaning, it's also important to make the house cozy again. Autumn often brings dreary weather, so it's up to you to make it warm, cozy, and pleasant inside. Get the nicest autumn accessories out of the closet and create a warm look. Need inspiration? Think of fun cushions, cozy rugs, lots of candles, and atmospheric branches and leaves.
