Based in West London, Blank Slate Studio is known for its masterful approach to creating exceptional spaces, and its latest project, a stunning pool house, is no exception. Five years after completing a beautiful main residence, the team was invited again to design a complementary space that completely redefines the art of entertaining in harmony with nature. The result is an architectural jewel that creates a perfect connection between interior and landscape. The pool house nestles against a breathtaking backdrop of rolling meadows and ancient woodland. The design emphasizes visual continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces. Warm wood paneling on the ceiling flows seamlessly into custom kitchen cabinets, while honey-colored limestone flagstones underfoot reinforce the natural palette. A carefully selected marble collection captures the blue-green reflections of the swimming pool, creating an ever-changing visual focal point that connects water, interior, and sky. The hand-plastered walls in soft, earthy tones add depth and refinement, while the wet areas are finished with microcement in a rich, date-colored hue, transforming functional spaces into intimate cocoons. Every piece of furniture was custom-designed and manufactured by Blank Slate Studio, ensuring harmonious integration with the architecture. The result is a pool house that is both large enough for extensive family gatherings and intimate enough for personal reflection.
The pool house kitchen celebrates the surrounding landscape through carefully selected materials and subtle, thoughtful design. The hand-selected marble echoes the organic palette of the space, while the wooden ceilings and limestone floors add warmth and texture. The dining area is dominated by a large, custom-made oak table overlooking the forest and meadows beyond.
A pool house that does not compete with nature, but celebrates it
The pool house invites relaxation and luxury. A spacious sofa and oversized ottoman, upholstered in high-quality indoor/outdoor fabric, combine comfort with durability. Outside, striped loungers and a copper-colored outdoor shower add playful and elegant accents, while the planting reinforces the feeling of a natural extension of the interior space. With this project, Blank Slate Studio demonstrates the power of thoughtful material use, subtle design, and harmony with nature. The pool house is more than an architectural feat: it is a timeless space where life, relaxation, and beauty seamlessly merge.
