On the morning of October 18, the 2025 China Jingdezhen International Ceramic Expo (1819 Ceramic Carnival) opened in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, the 'Millennium Porcelain Capital.' Since its inception in 2004, the Ceramic Expo has increasingly become a key global event integrating trade, cultural exchange, investment promotion, and open cooperation in the ceramic field. It serves both as a cultural window for Jingdezhen's 'millennium-old ceramics' and as a platform for 'connecting ceramics worldwide.' This year marks the 22nd edition of the expo. Adhering to the integrated development of trade, investment, and culture, this year's expo adopts a '1+3+6' framework and launches the '1819 Ceramic Carnival,' blending a professional exhibition with public participation. '1' refers to the expo's opening ceremony; '3' refers to three special events: the World Mayors' Dialogue & 2025 Jingdezhen Forum, the Key Industry Investment Promotion Conference, and the Cross-border Procurement Matchmaking Meeting; '6' refers to the six major activities of the '1819 Ceramic Carnival,' namely the Jingdezhen Grand Prize, Going to Town for the Market, Float Parade, City of a Thousand Museums, Citywide Grand Performances, and Carnival Night. This year's expo has achieved a record high level of international participation, attracting well-known ceramic brands from over 30 countries. It brings together international brands such as Germany's Villeroy & Boch, Russia's Royal Ceramics, and Japan's Koransha, along with over 500 exhibitors from major Chinese ceramic-producing regions, traditional famous kilns, and local Jingdezhen ceramic enterprises and art studios. Additionally, more than 600 ceramic enterprises based in the Jingdezhen Taobo City International Ceramic Trading Center are exhibiting simultaneously.

The expo covers a total exhibition area of 140,000 square meters, with 12 exhibition zones. Among them, the 'Why Jingdezhen' zone is established for the first time, featuring five sections—'Brand Brilliance,' 'Inheritance of Craftsmanship,' 'Innovation and Creativity,' 'Vast Array of Wares,' and 'Openness and Inclusiveness'—to deeply interpret 'Why Jingdezhen' from the perspectives of brands, enterprises, and products. Other zones include the International Brand Ceramics Zone, Ceramic-Producing City Zone, Daily-Use Ceramic Brand Zone, Famous Kiln Zone, Ceramic Equipment and Production Materials Zone, Comprehensive Zone, and Intangible Cultural Heritage Zone. Notably, the newly launched '1819 Ceramic Carnival' extends the expo from professional venues to every corner of the city. Through activities such as the float parade, going to town for the market, city of a thousand museums, and carnival night, it creates a cultural feast shared by the public. After the opening ceremony on the morning of the 18th, the '1819 Ceramic Carnival' float parade kicked off at Taobo City. The float parade invited participants from international cities, domestic ceramic-producing regions, World Heritage cities, and artists, bringing together ceramic art expressions from different regions and styles to showcase the charm of ceramic art. Thirteen domestic and international floats made a stunning appearance, performing interactive shows at multiple locations such as Taowanli and Taoxichuan, allowing citizens and tourists to experience the ceramic art characteristics of different countries and regions up close. During the expo, the 2025 Taoxichuan Spring-Autumn Fair (Autumn Edition) opened on the evening of the 17th at the Taoxichuan Creative Block. This fair integrates cultural creativity, art, and leisure, running until the 19th. It brings together 1,000 artists from 42 countries and regions, including handicraft creators, young designers, intangible cultural heritage inheritors, and young makers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, achieving unprecedented scale and diversity.
