In this new exhibition, Claire Beillard, an artist from Morlaix (Finistère), presents her sculptural steles that bear witness to the passage of time, impermanence, and immutability.
Nature reclaims its rights.
Behind the universe of the Morlaix ceramic artist's work, one can discern a vast reservoir of influences: inner, collective, and ancestral beliefs… All these sources nourish her forms made of black stoneware and porcelain slip-coated stoneware with glazes.
It is a sensitive approach linked to the intimate and to memory, to our presence in the world between strength and fragility where "nature reclaims its rights."
Her steles, shaped in ceramic, glazed stoneware, and iron oxides, combine primitive force and subtle poetry. They seem to emerge from a ritual or dreamlike world, somewhere between founding myth and a new dimension linked to contemporary creation.
As silent leitmotifs, "the graphite and oil pastel imprints on paper of the slabs I created last summer on the floor of the Lezingard chapel in Locquirec, set the rhythm of the exhibition."
To explore the symbolism of the steles, Claire Beillard is hosting a round table discussion on Friday, April 24 at 6:30 PM. Furthermore, she invites the public to a concert of French song, the delicate and instinctive pop of singer and keyboardist Khôl, on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 8 PM.
The exhibition is at Galerie du 6, Rue Haute in Morlaix.
