God Stone Yakiniku was founded in 2019 by RubberBand member Ah Wai and a friend with an investment of HK$2 million in Yau Ma Tei. Its concept was to allow customers to "enjoy high-quality food at affordable prices." The restaurant's unique feature was a self-service format where diners could cook their own steak on a hot stone slab, controlling the doneness themselves, which proved highly popular.
