Le rubinetterie Cristina al Cersaie 2018

Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “From Minimal to Vintage: All the Design Faucets “, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Are you tired of anonymous bathroom mixers? Do you want to personalize the most intimate and private space in your home with designer bathroom faucets? Do you want to know the trends and proposals identified by industry brands?

Here is a report from our explorations among the stands at the recent edition of Cersaie. A journey into Italian faucetry to discover the formal and technological transformations affecting all types of faucets.

Bathtubs, washbasins, and showers can truly change their appearance when paired with the modern bathroom faucetry collections exhibited at the fair, all characterized by innovative design and precious finishes. In general, two main currents stand out: from minimalist-toned design faucetry to vintage-inspired bathroom faucets.

Design Faucets: Materials and Finishes

And if the first is distinguished especially by the use of stainless steel, the second prefers traditional forms, bringing conventional double knobs back into vogue, updated through a wide range of chromatic and material finishes.

So, the way is open for an articulated range of solutions, even very different from each other, all hiding a unique green soul and sophisticated internal devices designed to ensure maximum water savings. One thing is certain: faucets and sink mixers, shower faucets, bathtub faucetry…

How to Choose a Modern Bathroom Faucet

Bathroom faucetry thus coordinates with floors and walls for effective stylistic and chromatic pairings, to be chosen among gold, bronze, brass, chrome, black, and white versions. And then there are those, like the brand Cristina, who focus on the expressive strength of stainless steel by expanding the SX line, designed by Makio Hasuike, with new solutions for washbasin, shower, and bathtub. All pieces in the collection are characterized by a dynamic and slender silhouette and recall the essential aesthetic of metal piping, typical of the series, indicating alternative frontiers of taste for enthusiasts of high-level products.

Equally sophisticated from a formal point of view is the other new entry from maison Cristina: the Profilo line. This is a collection based on the triangular section of the spouts and the flat, thin profiles of the control levers. A well-studied design detail that gives lightness and character to the design mixers in the series.

Another type of elegance for the Exclusive collection, also by Cristina, a faucetry system dedicated to lovers of the traditional double knob, reinterpreted through a skillful mix of old-style codes and contemporary language. An example is the washbasin faucet in total black version: a finish that mitigates the vaguely retro charm of the series, ensuring it a leading role in the landscape of modern bathroom faucetry.

Also of great effect is the shower zone solution characterized by the large showerhead and a sequence of accessories that graphically design the wall.

Mamoli, Hipster Line

Urban chic atmospheres and a black outfit for Hipster, the new proposal signed by Mamoli, which addresses the stylish metropolitan tribes always in search of exclusive and out-of-the-ordinary products. A true must of the line is the flower-shaped knob typical of industrial faucets.

Mamoli, Euclide Collection

Inspired instead by elementary volumes is the Euclide collection, designed for Mamoli by Alessandro Mendini: a line of design faucets with square and schematic forms, defined by flat and shiny surfaces, made not only in the gritty black color version but also in chrome, brushed stainless steel, and gold finishes.

Mamoli, Gio Ponti Collection

It is seventy years old but doesn't show it: the Gio Ponti collection that Mamoli has reissued as a tribute to the master still appears modern and beautiful. It is characterized by the three-pointed star handle, designed to be easily rotated with just three fingers. The new series, the result of a faithful reproduction of the original drawings, is now equipped with innovative systems aimed at containing water consumption.

Rubinetterie Stella

Rubinetterie Stella bets everything on customization and presents the Simple project. A system that assigns the client or interior designer an active role in configuring their idea of the perfect faucet, to be realized through a digital simulator that visualizes the multiple aggregative possibilities of the elements in the catalog. The operation, starting from the modular pieces designed by Giampaolo Benedini, allows the creation of unique products declinable in a vast range of variants. The result is a rich virtual range open to every experimentation: a mix of forms and materials studied not to chase the aesthetics of the moment at all costs.
