Tile of Spain to Feature Ephemeral Installation Again at Milan's Fuorisalone

Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Tile of Spain to Feature Ephemeral Installation “, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Tile of Spain will once again feature an ephemeral installation at the Fuorisalone, held during the world's most important design week in Milan. The installation, titled 'Spanish Design as a Souvenir' and designed by the Codoo studio, is located at the Università degli Studi di Milano (La Statale), within the renowned exhibition program curated by Interni.

Conceived as a contemporary reflection on Spanish design, the proposal transforms ceramics into the central axis of a discourse connecting identity, culture, and design. The project poses a key question: can design become a souvenir? Not as a tourist object, but as a piece loaded with meaning.

The proposal is articulated as a contemporary still life on an architectural scale, where icons of Spanish design, everyday objects, and cultural references reinterpreted in ceramics coexist.

The installation seeks to revalue Spanish ceramics, moving it away from its traditional use as cladding or flooring to transform it into an object, volume, and autonomous design piece. Ceramics are presented as a material capable of positioning itself in the territory of art, design, and collecting, exploring new uses, scales, and meanings.

The space is articulated around 11 sculptural elements clad with ceramics from different Spanish ceramic brands: Apavisa, Arcana, Argenta, Cevica, Colorker, Cristacer, Decocer, Dune, El Barco, Estudio Cerámico, Gayafores, Harmony, Tau Cerámica, Vidrepur, and Vives.

Participation in the Fuorisalone, one of the main global showcases for design, consolidates Tile of Spain's commitment to promoting ceramics as a creative material and vehicle for contemporary expression, in dialogue with architects, designers, and specifiers worldwide.

This participation is part of the promotional plan for Spanish tiles in Italy, co-financed by ICEX Spain Exportaciones e Inversiones and ASCER, and managed locally by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Milan.

On the occasion of this participation in the Fuorisalone, a mobile-first online digital catalog has been designed, accessible from the promotional website tileofspain.com, which includes the contact details of the participating companies and the collections presented.
