The Gyodong Administrative Welfare Center in Miryang City announced on the 16th that a 110-meter-long mosaic tile mural has been created on the retaining wall of a mountain road in Gyodong. The mural, illuminated at night, has transformed the area into a bright cultural space.
The mural on the Gyodong mountain road retaining wall features designs of Miryang's representative tourist sites located in Gyodong, such as the Miryang Hyanggyo (Confucian School) and the Miryang Arirang Space Observatory. Moving beyond its simple function as a retaining wall, it has been reborn as an artistic cultural space that holds bright light. LED lighting was installed around it so the artwork can be appreciated even at night.
“I am pleased that through the creation of the mural and the installation of LED lights, we have resolved the inconvenience of nighttime passage and can provide a pleasant and sentimental walking path,” said Gyodong District Head Lee Mi-hwa.
