Immutable ‘Reproduction of the Ancient Mosaic Golden Ratio’
The mosaics of the San Vitale Basilica in Ravenna, Italy, mysteriously retain their beautiful colors even after over 1500 years. Hanon explains that SICIS perfectly reproduces the 8:2 golden ratio of natural minerals and silica found in ancient mosaic tiles, making the quality difference immediately apparent compared to other products with significantly lower mineral content.

Mosaics are high-cost products due to natural minerals, demanding processes, and handcrafting. Many mosaic brands that inherited the ancient mosaic spirit started in Italy but have now moved to countries like India and China where cost reduction is possible. Hanon explains that only stubborn SICIS uniquely produces in Italy.
70 Million Won High Heel! Bathtub or Artwork?
The product that undoubtedly received the most attention at the launch event is the 'Audrey' high-heel bathtub dressed in platinum mosaic, priced around 70 million won. It is an ambitious masterpiece representing SICIS, specially handcrafted in Italy and airlifted to commemorate the Korean launch. The tiles used in this bathtub have precious metals like gold, silver, platinum, and titanium embedded in glass, adding three-dimensional beauty. The price ranges from 60 to 80 million won depending on size and mosaic type. It is a luxury bathtub custom-produced to meet strict consumer needs for color, design, and pattern, as all work is done by hand.
“Reinterpreting art mosaics, which were mainly used in artistic architectural styles like cathedrals in the past, in a modern way is the unique charm of SICIS,” said Lee Jung-bin, CEO of Hanon. “By creating mosaics not as mere building materials but with the passion of artisans, sublimating them into unique products that are the only one of their kind in the world, it has become possible to create high-level spatial designs.”
