Christine Gomez Shapes a World of Refinement

Editor's Note

This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Christine Gomez Shapes a World of Refinement”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

Christine Gomez is from Langlade. Passionate about her porcelain creations, she participated in the 20th edition of the European Heritage Crafts Days (JEMA). This event was supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Chamber of Trades and Crafts.

From April 7th to 12th, she opened her workshop to visitors. Among the participating artisans in the area, one could also discover the Gardian boot in Aigues-Vives and the boutis museum in Calvisson.

Christine grew up in a family of artists – photographers, leather workers – and inherited this delicate, meticulous, and magical know-how. Her taste for aesthetics and her training with master ceramicists have allowed her to create undeniable originality and give a soul to her creations. Her world breathes softness and serenity, thanks to the noble material she uses.

I proceed in several stages, she explains. The mold I make in plaster, the casting of slip, engraving, firing, and the meticulous demolding. The finer the result, the more light passes through the translucency.

This year, in addition to ambient lamps, new items have appeared: pendants, frames… The young woman welcomes those who wish to visit her.
