This editor’s note highlights the key facts and market implications behind “Ceramic and Origami Workshops in La Sauceda: A C”, with emphasis on sourcing, product fit, fabrication, logistics, or buyer impact.

HERMOSILLO.- Ceramic and origami workshops held every weekend at El Bosque Urbano La Sauceda have been a great success, aiming for children and their parents to develop artistic skills and interact in a healthy, creative environment.

Since El Bosque Urbano La Sauceda opened in March 2025, various craft workshops have been held at the entrance to the Open Air Forum, especially ceramics, taught by members of Casa Raíz HMO.

Visual artist Héctor García Valerio explained that throughout the year, the ceramic workshop has been conducted with different themes depending on the season and is currently dedicated to the region's flora and fauna.

The instructor added that the ceramic base is clay collected from the surroundings of El Bosque Urbano La Sauceda, but children and their parents only need to attend the workshop each Saturday and Sunday, as the park provides all the materials.

García Valerio highlighted that new technologies have changed how children have fun and spark their imagination, with the use of tablets and cell phones, and while he is not against such devices, it is good for children to discover their skills and talents through crafts and art.

The public response has been very good, he emphasized, and every weekend entire families come to participate in the various workshops. One of the most important and attention-grabbing was the creation of cardboard skulls for the Day of the Dead.

Another option to let imagination soar offered by El Bosque Urbano La Sauceda is the Japanese art of origami, known in Spanish as papiroflexia, which is nothing more than creating paper figures through folds, taught by the instructor herself.

Paula Carreño is an architecture student and started her origami workshop last Saturday at the entrance to the park's Open Air Forum. She considers this art form creative but one that requires patience to achieve a better result.

She recounted that in November 2025, she created her social media page Pinto Club, offering private art classes to children in Hermosillo. One of her students in particular liked origami, so she decided to focus on it, which has generated a good response in the community.

The instructor emphasized that origami also helps with hand motor skills and, like her ceramics colleague, does not condemn the use of technology but believes it is important to have a space where patience and concentration can be developed.

Like the ceramics workshop, the origami workshop maintains the theme of the region's flora and fauna, and during the workshop participants can make various animals such as rabbits, butterflies, birds, frogs, iguanas, among others.

The ceramic and origami workshops are free and are held on weekends at the entrance to the Open Air Forum of El Bosque Urbano La Sauceda. Remember to arrive half an hour early, as capacity is limited to 24 people.
